In this modern world we live in, there are countless solutions available to budget and track spending. Seriously, it’s amazing what is available out there for us to take control of our finances, however, there is one major drawback with 90% what I’ve looked into.
My bank transactions are not automatically imported!
I know myself well enough to know that if it were up to me to input every line item of spending… I would still be in debt and forced to be content with my 30 year student loan. I don’t want to keep every receipt and I certainly don’t want to spend the time at the cash register making note of the transaction so I wouldn’t forget.
What is the easiest way to track spending?
I love using mint.com to track spending and to maintain my budget. It’s the easiest way, that I’ve found because I can connect all my different accounts to Mint and they import all the recent transactions for me to work with inside their program! It’s actually pretty sweet.
I talk a lot about Mint and I trust them with my banking login information. You can decide what works best for you, it’s just that I found it easier to not spend my time and energy trying to remember every time I spent money and focus more instead on optimizing my budget to get the most out of it.
Not only do I love mint.com for automatically importing my transactions, but I also love how all of my bank accounts come into one place. It’s like having a bird’s eye-view of everything going on in each of my accounts without me needing to log into each one jumping between tabs. These are truly small and simple things, but they make a big difference in how much time is spent on simply maintaining your budget each week.
Have you found a comparable alternative to Mint?? I want to hear about it! Comment below.
